baroque consort

Conductor: Darrel Chan (Since 2019)

Choir Master: Scott Woo

Petaling Jaya (PJ) Baroque Consort is the specialist chamber choir formed in 2017 within the VerSeS Music Ensembles collective. The consort comprises singers from all walks of life, with extensive performance experience and special interest in music of the Baroque Period. They have performed Bach’s motets (BWV 227, BWV 229 and selections from BWV 230) and Poulenc’s Christmas motets (FP152) in concerts both locally and abroad.

The Consort’s upcoming plans include concerts, workshops and collaborations to promote choral music from the Baroque era. They aim to share how music making can be cool and fun, with audience that may not have had exposure to Baroque consort music.
